BURNLEY: ALLARDYCE LINKED WITH MANAGERIAL JOB

Ex-West Brom and Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce has reportedly been linked with the managerial job at Premier League side Burnley. This is according to various reports in the English media via the bookmakers. He was one of the favourites after Burnley sacked Dyche earlier this month. The Clarets are continuing to play Premier League football without a permanent manager with caretaker manager Mike Jackson in charge of the team.

A lot of football stakeholders were stunned when news broke that Burnley have sacked Sean Dyche. The longtime Burnley manager was dismissed from his job shortly after the disappointing 2-0 loss at bottom team Norwich City which left them four points adrift of safety. Jackson has since been able to guide the Clarets to two points above the relegation zone with a return of seven points from his three games in charge.

A lot of names have been linked with the Burnley managerial job including the aforementioned Allardyce who managed Sunderland and West Brom in the Premier League. Apart from West Brom and Sunderland, Allardyce also managed clubs such as Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers and Newcastle United in the English top flight. Allardyce is not the only manager linked with the Burnley job. Others such as Ex-West Ham United and West Brom boss SlavenBilic, Middlesbrough manager Chris Wilder and many more.

Thanks to the managerial input of Jackson and his backroom staff which includes club skipper Ben Mee who’s currently injured, Burnley are unbeaten in three Premier League games since the exit of Dyche and the disappointing defeat at Norwich City.  Burnley recovered from the Norwich City defeat with a 1-1 draw at the home of West Ham United before successive wins over Southampton and Wolves in the space of three days. With the seven points from the present Mike Jackson era at the club, Burnley are out of the bottom three and two points above the Toffees in third from bottom having played a game more than the Frank Lampard-led side.
