NO MORE PLAYERS

Posted on February 7, 2014 in Millwall

Fleetwood town manager Graham Alexander has confirmed that he does not plan to bring in any more players during this transfer window, but he left his options open by saying that if the right player turned up, he could bring him in. Alexander has wasted no time in bringing Mikael Mandron from Sunderland. The 19-year-old has been subjected to interest from a number of clubs who are rivals to Fleetwood. Despite this coup, Alexander has left the door open to the possibilities of future rivals.

Mikael Mandron has been signed on loan from Sunderland till the end of the season. Even though Fleetwood are currently top of the goalscoring charts this campaign, Alexander reckons that the addition of more firepower gives them an extra option. He has confirmed that Mandron had offers from different clubs across England, but ultimately chose the challenge from Alexander. The manager could have the freedom of choosing his squad to the maximum strength as he has a number of players on the verge of returning from injuries.

He has said that it is a major boost for the club that they feel like new signings all of the sudden. Fleetwood are one of the favourites to get promoted into the League One, as they have been up there throughout this campaign.

“It was an area we decided needed strengthening. Mikael is a player we’ve been watching for some time and we thought the time was right to move for him. We know he had options but we are all delighted both he and Sunderland decided Fleetwood Town was the best of them. We’ve looked at every area and I think we’re quite happy now with what we’ve got. There aren’t any more targets we’re specifically looking at … but that’s not to say something won’t happen,” said Alexander.
